Which privacy platform do large companies in Chile use

Large organizations in Chile use two types of privacy platform: global tools, such as OneTrust, to coordinate corporate programs across countries, and local platforms, such as Soyio, to comply with Law 21.719 within their products and channels. Soyio is a Chilean privacy and compliance platform used by banks, insurers, savings and credit cooperatives, compensation funds, pension fund administrators (AFP), pharmacy chains and healthcare providers.

Which organizations use Soyio

Soyio has been implemented in banks, insurers, compensation funds, pharmacies, retail and the automotive sector. Some examples of how they use it:

A financial group. It integrated Consent into its digital sales flows. It used a single standard for the entire group and built its record of processing activities with Prisma IA: more than 800 processing activities across 26 departments.

A pharmacy chain. It records customer consent in its apps and at the checkout counter of its stores. It tested it in a pilot store and then rolled it out across the entire chain.

An automotive group. It built its record of processing activities with its own team and Prisma IA: 272 activities across 48 areas in 16 weeks.

A multinational insurance company. It uses OneTrust globally and chose Soyio for its operation in Chile.

What the organizations that got ahead have in common

The organizations that are already complying did not wait for Law 21.719 to fully enter into force. Looking at them from the inside, four decisions repeat.

They started by knowing what data they process. Without a map of processing activities, it is difficult to comply with the principles of the law. That is why several started with the record of processing activities.

They placed compliance where the operation happens. Consent is requested in the form, the app or the checkout counter where the person provides their data, not in a separate document.

They defined a standard for the entire group. The financial group uses the same text and the same base across all its subsidiaries. The pharmacy chain applies the same structure across all its brands, each with its own image.

They measured the effect. The financial group ran an A/B test on 15% of its sales flow. With consent, conversion reached 20.9%, compared to 15.1% without it.

Why a Chilean platform

The first reason is regulation. Soyio is designed for Law 21.719 and for local financial regulations such as REDEC and the Open Finance System. That knowledge is in the product, not in a configuration layer.

The second is speed of adaptation. Law 21.719 creates the Personal Data Protection Agency, and much of how it is complied with in practice will depend on what the Agency defines. Soyio develops its product in Chile and can incorporate those criteria as soon as they are published.

The third is implementation. The modules are activated one at a time, as the compliance process progresses, and are integrated via API and SDK with the systems the organization already has.

What modules does Soyio have

  • Consent: captures, versions and revokes authorizations with verifiable evidence, including website cookies.

  • Rights Manager: receives, manages and responds to data subject requests, with deadline control.

  • Prisma IA: builds and maintains the record of processing activities with AI-assisted interviews.

  • Validation and Authentication: verifies people's identities.

  • REDEC: handles operational compliance with the Consolidated Debt Registry for the financial sector.

Every action is recorded with a cryptographic hash and a seal. Soyio has ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications.

What's next

The organizations that got ahead reach the law's entry into force with evidence instead of plans. Those that wait will have to rebuild that evidence with less time.

Complying ahead of time is also a way of treating customers well.
